BirdieDuel turns your round into a personal match play duel – with automatic handicap strokes, live scoring and side bets.
Challenge your friends to a golf duel. Play match play with automatic handicap strokes, live scoring and side bets – free with BirdieDuel.
One hole per screen, up to four players on one page, big buttons built for a gloved hand. Everyone enters their own score — or one scorekeeper enters for the whole flight.
Challenge friends even if you tee off at different times: same course, same day, compared hole by hole. You only see your opponent's results once you've both played the hole.
From handicap index, course rating, slope, and tee, the app calculates both players' playing handicap and distributes the strokes across the holes. In a duel you can also play a fraction of the handicap — full, three-quarters, or two-thirds of the difference.
Birdie, eagle, and hole-in-one are recognized automatically; sandy, 3-putt, and the rest are a single tap. At the end you get a settlement in credits — per duel, per day, per month, per opponent.
Run tournaments across multiple rounds and courses. Spectators follow the leaderboard in the browser — no account needed, switch between gross and net. It updates as soon as a flight has completed its round.
Every score you enter counts right away: at the hole you see where your duel stands as soon as you have both played; the tournament leaderboard updates for spectators as soon as a flight has completed its round. Running duels and flight games are public under "Live" for anyone to follow — by link, without an account and without an app. If you would rather play unwatched, set your duel to private.
BirdieDuel is a free web app for rounds of golf: a digital scorecard, one-on-one duels, flight games and tournaments. You only enter the score; the app works out handicap strokes, scoring and side bets. Nothing to install — it runs in the browser.
You agree on the course, the day, the game format and the scoring. From handicap index, course rating, slope and the chosen tee, BirdieDuel works out both players’ playing handicaps and spreads the strokes across the holes by stroke index. You can play the full difference or three quarters or two thirds of it.
Yes. A duel also works at different tee times as long as you play the same course on the same day. You only see your opponent’s result on a hole once you have both played it.
Yes. Every entry is stored locally right away and sent in the background as soon as you are back online. You simply keep playing through dead spots.
Match play, stroke play and Stableford, each gross or net. Flights of two to four players are possible, including two against two as a team with best ball, aggregate or best/worst ball.
Side bets are small wagers on individual events: the app spots birdies, eagles and holes-in-one by itself, and you tap in a sandy or a three-putt. Everything is settled in credits. Credits are play money for keeping score — BirdieDuel handles no real money and is not gambling.
